The idea was to put the fully grown mice into the boxes made from wood. The boxes were to be taken to the train station and then placed inside the trains and transported to N. That was the queen's wish as Adam was to receive the message. Three men came to him a week before and gave him an envelope.

"Put our dearest souvenirs into boxes and wait for my men to take them".

He instantly understood. Gemma asked him for only one favor. He spent a week preparing the boxes and putting the mice inside. With difficulty, he took them to the station. He wasn't allowed to look at the trains. He left the boxes unattended. Others took them and Adam didn't see any traits of them anymore.

A week later he received another letter.

"You will receive two messages. One will tell you when your block will be closed. The second will tell you which train to enter at the station when all of you are there together. I loved you and I want you alive."

He cherished that message, even though he didn't feel anything for Gemma. He felt lucky to have met her. He had a chance in life none of his friends would ever wish for.

For the last time he looked at Melquiades' house, he entered the woods and burned the shed. When the rain washed over the dust there was no sign that it was there in the first place.
